pls reblog and add your comments right to the reblog. I LOVE to read your thoughts! I look at every single reblog to see if you left a comment in your tags but some of your themes are difficult to figure out and/or hide tags all together, this makes it far less fun and rewarding for me as a content creator.

[edit] I’m not mad or upset or anything, sorry!! I still appreciate every reblog/like whether it has comments attached or not! but I’ve just been seeing a thing going around that it’s “rude” to add comments to the reblog but “ok” to do so in tags, and, well, I disagree with that. I think comments are meaningful no matter where they are, BUT they’re much much easier for me to see in the reblog instead of tags. and I have to admit to being slightly frustrated with recent themes that make tags very difficult to find haha

My final project for Web Design was to create a portfolio website for myself. Everything is my own work, and the entire site is designed and hand-coded by me. Took me a good month and a half because ccoooooddde

I know it’s not what I generally post here but I worked hard and I’m pretty proud of this so you all have to go look at it in action.

Its shape was human. Or rather it was close enough to human that he could recognize it — for a single moment he was reminded of the notorious medieval drawings of animals, done by artists who had never seen the animal but had done their best to recreate it anyway, but the comparison seemed to fall miserably short because the monstrosity was not on a sheet of paper it was standing right in front of him. It had a head and a body, it had two arms and two legs and it was trying to be human, but it was wrong. Its skin writhed like it was a separate entity, its limbs were too long and its body was too thin, and its eyes oh god hadn’t it had eyes just a second ago? It didn’t look like it shouldn’t exist, and when it moved or it breathed it was so painfully obvious that it had not been designed to move or breathe and it couldn’t see him but it was looking straight into his eyes and then it smiled. At least, its lips peeled back — no they went too far a mouth couldn’t go that far could it — and it showed its teeth, and there were too many teeth and they were the wrong kind of teeth, and even in the weird uneven dark-light they glistened, covered in saliva or blood or both or neither. The smile went on forever, it was moving too slowly but before he could understand what was happening it was coming toward him it was moving too fast and it didn’t know how to move it just looked like something that had been broken apart too many times and then strung back together wrong and he didn’t know what to do all he knew was that his legs weren’t working and he should be running his lungs weren’t working and he should be screaming but there was nowhere to run and there was no one to hear him and this time he had gone too far but it didn’t matter because he wouldn’t be going any farther not after this but

he was awake.

His heart was racing and he could barely catch his breath but the room was perfectly still. Perfectly quiet. The air was hot, and he wondered if the heat had been left on too high or if a nightmare could really make you feel feverish. He scanned the space nervously, but already he was beginning to rationalize, to forget and dismiss. Things like that didn’t exist, things like that didn’t happen, there was no reason to be afraid because there was nothing there to be afraid of. But like it or not he was awake now. There would be no sleeping again for a few hours at least, maybe for the rest of the night. He resisted a glance at the clock — he didn’t really want to know just how obscenely early of an hour it was — and simply untangled himself from his sheets and climbed to his feet, staggering tiredly out into the living room. He turned on the television to let whatever mindless late-night show was on clear away the last clinging remnants of the nightmare.

So he never heard it leave through the open window.

Some punk-ass kid gets fed up with his family and his sleepy Irish hometown, hoofs it to New York City, accidentally gets mixed up with a cult using blood magic to make it big, strikes a few deals with a few demons, and eventually becomes, among certain circles, one of the best-known necromancers in the New England area.

Sometimes I think about how the backstories of some of my “support” characters would be a lot of fun to write all on their own, and then I laugh because for a second I actually believed I could commit to writing an entire story from start to finish.
